Lakewood Forest Real Estate Information

Tucked away in the northwest quadrant of the greater Houston area is Lakewood Forest, a community of about 7,000 people inclusive of 2,461 properties with an average number of bedrooms of four and average number of baths of 2.41. The subdivision was significantly grown in 1981 and was originally built to serve a large Compaq Computers Corporation, now HP, office and facility. Today, while HP employees make up a small percentage of residents, the neighborhood is also home to several professionals in the energy, medical and education fields.

Area properties are close to the David Wayne Hooks Memorial Airport, a public-use airfield that is one of only a few privately-owned airports with FAA air traffic control. The facility includes two paved runways as well as a seaplane landing area. While there are no commercial services and 98% of operations is general aviation, the airport is an important part of the community, especially for the large contingent of private pilots that live in Lakewood Forest. Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District, Texas’ most prestigious public school district provides Bridgeland’s students with one of the best educational environments in Texas. Black Elementary School, Moore Elementary School, Hamilton Middle School, and Cy-Woods High School are the primary campuses for area youth in kindergarten through grade twelve. Some of Lakewood Forest’s youth attend schools in the Tomball Independent School District, however, which includes Lakewood Elementary School, Tomball Intermediate School, and Tomball High School.

The Willowbrook Mall serves the community’s primary needs because of its variety of retail stores, restaurants, and entertainment businesses. Residents of Lakewood Forest enjoy this feature as it doesn’t require them face the traffic of Houston for most errands and needs.

Area real estate is set in the midst of a number of interesting and challenging local golf courses. Longwood Golf Course, Raveneaux Country Club, Champions Golf Course, Wind Rose Golf Club, and Gleannlock Farms Golf Course are all popular in the community and are typically booked full weeks in advance. The Roy C. Hohl Nature Trailcreek is an especially fun place to be, especially for families because of its easy walkways, interesting things to see, and serene beauty.
