Hunters Creek Village Real Estate Information

Home to almost 5,000 people and situated in the heart of Houston, Hunters Creek Village is just a few minutes from the city center of the downtown area. As the fifth wealthiest location in Texas based on per capita income, the Hunters Creek Village community has quickly become one of the most prestigious and exclusive places to live, despite its geographic positioning within the city. Initially settled by German farmers who opened sawmills in the area, it wasn’t until 1954 that the area was officially recognized. In 2008, Forbes Magazine chose Hunters Creek Village as one of Houston’s top three suburbs to live well.

Nearby to Bunker Hill Village and Piney Point Village, Hunters Creek Village jointly operates the Memorial Villages Police department as well as the Village Fire Department. These locally-operated essential services allow residents to receive immediate attention should an emergency arise instead of having to rely on the services of a greater Houston emergency response unit.

Hunters Creek Village is actually split between two school districts. Spring Branch Independent School District encompasses the portion of the community north of the Buffalo Bayou. While area toddlers must travel into Houston proper for preschool at Wildcat Way School. Both Hunters Creek Elementary School and Memorial Drive Elementary School serves grades K through five. Students in the Spring Branch district attend Spring Branch Middle School and Memorial High School, both of which are located in Hedwig Village. For those students not included in the former district, they are served by the Houston Independent School District that operates Briargrove Elementary School, Grady Middle School, and Lee High School.

Despite being a rather urban area close to the center of Houston, Hunters Creek Village and its residents can enjoy a number of luxuries usually reserved for communities closer to the metropolitan area’s fringe. The Houston Country Club is a popular escape for many of the area’s privileged residents. Lakeside Country Club is a very popular alternative and is not much farther away. Memorial Park, Memorial Park Golf Course, and River Oaks Country Club are also nearby and quite convenient for avid recreationists.
